Cambodian Community Dream Organization (CCDO)

ENRICHING CHILDHOODS, IMPROVING LIVES

Welcome to CCDO

At the CCDO, we work to improve conditions in villages surrounding Siem Reap, Cambodia by implementing four main programs:

  • Clean Water (Wells, Latrines, and Hygiene)
  • Education (English, Preschools, Libraries, and Computers)
  • Health & Wellbeing (Nutrition, Sports, Community Workshops)
  • Social Enterprise ( Agroforestry and Soap Sellers)

Our team The CCDO is run by international volunteers and paid local staff as a non-political, non-religious organization. We are a small NGO making a big impact by tackling many important community issues. Cambodian Community Dream Organization, Inc. was first founded in Cambodia in 2007 by American Jenni Lipa with the sole objective of building water wells. However, Jenni quickly realized that children hold the key to the country's future. She believes that kids deserve not only clean drinking water, but a good education, better nutrition, and improved health. Jenni spearheaded many new programs and initiatives and eventually registered Cambodian Community Dream Organization, Inc. as a US-based 501(C)3 not-for-profit tax-exempt charity (NGO) in February, 2009. After splitting from the original Cambodian partner in July 2013, she registered a new NGO in Cambodia under the name Cambodian Community Dream Organization.

Cambodia endured a genocide during the Khmer Rouge and Pol Pot era resulting in an estimated 2 million deaths or the equivalent of 25% of the population. Every family lost at least one member and today 65% of the population is under the age of 25. Poverty is widespread and yet, being very proud and hardworking, the Cambodians do whatever it takes to make ends meet. But many families in the rural areas earn less than $2 per day and cannot afford to build their own drinking water wells or even send their children to school.

The CCDO is a top-ranked, reputable charity that needs your support. If you would like to donate, please visit our donation page or if you would like to volunteer or help out in some way, please visit our get involved page.

Our Programs

A plan for a better future

Wash

wash
63% of all Cambodians have no access to any kind of toilet facilities. Lack of safe water, sanitation or good hygiene practices is one of the biggest issues affecting the health of people in rural Cambodia. Our WASH program helps secure the right to safe water, the simple and life-saving practice of washing hands with soap and the dignity of using a toilet.

Education

education
Our programs work within government schools by providing supplementary education: early childhood education in preschools, English classes from grade 4, computer classes, sports, library, and arts. We support the poorest students with uniforms and supplies and the smartest with High School scholarships.

Health & Wellbeing

education
We provide free nutritious breakfast to 4,500 kids and healthy preschool snacks so children can learn on a full stomach. Though education levels are very basic, the villagers, especially women, are eager to attend our community workshops and learn about nutrition, hygiene, family planning, parenting, anti-trafficking.

Social Enterprise

We encourage women to take on social enterprise roles, selling recycled soap to the villages and promoting hygiene. Agroforestry will help plant trees for the planet and grow food to sell and provide for their families.
